Institute: How did your career in photography begin?

Andrea: After graduating as Communication Designer I founded my own studio for graphic design and photography named “glanzstück”. I focused my photography work on fashion and architectural artwork.

Institute: Who did you aspire to growing up?

Andrea: That was definitely Elliott Erwitt and Helmut Newton. I loved their photos for the Lavazza Wall Calendars.

Institute: What are you currently working on?

Andrea: There will be a new fashion collection for tate millinery head pieces. But I’m also working on product shots and business scenes.

Institute: How was 2015 for you?

Andrea: Amazing. I worked on interesting client projects and I was published at institute magazine.

Institute: Do you have an all time favourite image?

Andrea: Not really. But i have a range of images i like based of different aspects.

Institute: What is your creative process?

Andrea: I don’t try to think in pictures but in emotions and surroundings, what is typical und what makes the contrast.

Institute: What has been your proudest moment to date?
Andrea: My first exposition at the consulate when I was 17.

Institute: What career path would you of taken if not photography?
Andrea: As I’m not only photographer but creating pictures in a complete communicational concept for my clients, my career path would always be settled in a creative area as communication designer. But I never would want to miss being a photographer.

Institute: What do you think of taking photos with your phone?
Andrea: I try to avoid that. I don’t like the distortion of the lense.

Institute: What does 2016 hold for you?
Andrea: I hope for new challenges. Currently I’m working on short image sequenzes like cinemagraphs to stretch the moment of an image.
